Easy Screedy
FAQs
What is Easy Screedy?
Easy Screedy is a professional screeding tool designed by landscapers to make laying paving faster, easier and more accurate. It creates a consistent, flat full mortar bed with the correct allowance for tap-down.
What's new about the latest Easy Screedy?
The latest Easy Screedy features our new roller system, allowing the tool to glide smoothly across the paving rather than dragging along it. This means less resistance, no horrible scraping noise and no aluminium wear against the paving.
How does the roller system work?
The roller runs directly along the previously laid paving while the Easy Screedy levels the mortar bed alongside it. This creates a smooth, controlled screeding action while maintaining a consistent 4-5mm tap-down.
Will Easy Screedy mark or scratch my paving?
The new roller system means the aluminium body doesn't need to drag directly across the paving. This eliminates the traditional scraping action and helps protect both the paving and the Easy Screedy itself.
What paving thickness does Easy Screedy work with?
The current Easy Screedy is designed specifically for 20mm paving. The roller can be easily removed for cleaning and maintenance.
In the future, we plan to introduce interchangeable roller options to make Easy Screedy compatible with a wider range of paving thicknesses.
What size paving can I use Easy Screedy with?
Easy Screedy has a screeding section of approximately 650mm, making it ideal for popular paving formats including 600x600mm and 600x900mm slabs.
Does Easy Screedy create a full mortar bed?
Yes. Easy Screedy is specifically designed to create a flat, full mortar bed, helping achieve full contact beneath the paving rather than leaving grooves or channels in the mortar.
How much tap-down does Easy Screedy allow?
Easy Screedy is designed to provide approximately 4-5mm of tap-down, helping you achieve the finished level accurately and consistently.
Can the roller be removed?
Yes. The roller can be easily removed for cleaning and maintenance, helping keep your Easy Screedy performing smoothly.
How does Easy Screedy speed up paving?
By creating a consistent mortar bed before the slab is laid, Easy Screedy removes much of the guesswork and repeated lifting and adjusting of paving. Screed it, prime it, lay it and tap it down.
Who is Easy Screedy for?
It was developed for professional landscapers and paving installers, but its simple design also makes it suitable for competent DIY users looking to achieve a professional finish.
Is Easy Screedy patented?
The new Easy Screedy roller system is Patent Pending.
Where was Easy Screedy developed?
Easy Screedy was designed and developed in the UK by working landscapers, based on years of real-world experience laying paving.
Is the new Easy Screedy the same as the original Easy Screedy?
No. The latest Easy Screedy takes the original proven concept and introduces a completely new roller system, creating a smoother, quieter screeding action with no aluminium dragging across the paving. It still delivers the consistent 4-5mm tap-down Easy Screedy is known for, but makes the screeding process even easier.
